Baby update: This past Tuesday I started going in for my weekly visits. I have been so excited to hit this point because this is when they actually start checking you and tell you if anything is happening! Russ and I met a new doctor and we LOVED her. We have now met 4 of the 5 doctors in our practice and we really have liked everyone so far which is great. Anyways, I wasn't really expecting to hear any "good" news as far as progress went seeing as how I wasn't even 35 weeks yet at my appointment, but to my surprise we were told I am already 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced... craziness!!! The doctor said this is great news especially for a first time mom. It doesn't necessarily mean that Everett is going to come early, but it does means that my cervix is already preparing for labor which is pretty awesome. And it could mean that he might be a little early, which we totally aren't going to complain about! The doctor told me to take it easy the next couple of weeks because it is important to make it to at least 37 weeks (which is technically full term, although your due date is at 40 weeks) so his little lungs will be more developed. It is blowing my mind to think that I could have this baby in TWO WEEKS! It will most likely be 3-5 weeks but still... SO SOON! Side note: I don't know if this is way too much information or whether or not it is "blog appropriate" but I am writing this mainly to document this season for our family as well as for all of my extended family that likes updates so my apologies to anyone who felt weird reading about my cervix ;)
I have been super busy the past few weeks with photo sessions that I have neglected this blog a little bit. Today was supposed to by my last official day of doing sessions, but since I got that nasty stomach bug a few weeks back I had to reschedule a few sessions for this upcoming week. As of today, I have 3 sessions left to shoot and 5 left to edit. The end is in sight!!
I am really determined to catch up on this blog and document some exciting things that have happened over the past few weeks. I had my second baby shower here in Charleston thrown by my sister Braden and my best friend Cat. The theme was "Cute as a Button." It was a ton of fun and once again I was so overwhelmed by just how much our little man is already loved. Goodness gracious a baby shower will make you feel so blessed! I wish I would have gotten more pictures before people left, but I at least got a few with some friends. Thank you to Braden and Cat for such a special day and thank you to everyone who came and showered us with so much love! Here are a few pictures from the shower.
